Fire Safety Documentation

Fire safety requirements vary by venue, jurisdiction, and installation type. Always confirm requirements with your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

What is NFPA 701?

NFPA 701 is a standard developed by the National Fire Protection Association that establishes test methods for measuring the flame propagation of textiles and films. It is commonly referenced for decorative materials used in commercial, hospitality, and event spaces.

Method 2 of this standard applies to single-layer decorative materials, including artificial foliage. When a product is "tested to NFPA 701 Method 2," it means the product underwent laboratory testing following that specific procedure.

However, "tested" is different from "compliant" or "approved." Compliance and approval are determined by your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) based on your specific installation context.
